Animation/audio

This is the animation that I created in photoshop. I used 300 layers and just changed the filter and drew some birds and a boat on some of the layers. It's definatelty not the best animation and I'm not proud of it but here it is anyways.

Final Video

This is my final project for my art 210 class. I'm not satisfied with it but I did my best. The music is by Kanye West.

Menu

Heres's my menu assignment. I choose a restaurant that was close to my house called Bona Pizza. Inside the menu is a picture of the Colosseum that I took when I was in Rome. I tried to make the outside of the menu look like the Italian flag and added another one of my pictures in the center where the beverages are. It was taken at one of the forums. The cover just consist of a map of Italy. I used the effect tool in order to get it to blend into the background.

Minimal/Maximal

Footprints in the Sand

The top one is my minimal poem. I basically just tried to make it look like a foot since the poem is called footprints in the sand. The second image is my maximal poem. Just took some images that somewhat fit to the meaning of the poem like the footprints and the image of Jesus in the background.

My five business cards

Here are all my business cards that I created in illustrator. My favorite is the one with the phoenix and the black one that's right next to it. I did my best so I hope there ok.

Personal Logos

Here are five of my personal logos that I designed for my business cards. I really like the one with the phoenix in the middle and my initials on both sides.

Altered Logo

Original

For this assignment I just choose a logo that is actually being used by a cafe in Hollywood, California and altered it to the way I wanted it to look like.

Calligram

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the
beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I asked the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying
periods of my life
there have been one set of footprints in the
sand.
Why, when I needed you most, you have not
been there for me?"

The Lord replied,
"The times when you have seen only one set of
footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you."

Posters

The first poster is in black and white. I've been playing soccer for 12 years. It's my favorite sport, so I decided to make one of my posters about soccer.

For this poster I just used the grayscale and changed the background to gray. Not the best, I'm definitely not satisfied with this. I'm probably going to do another one.

Postcards

I went to Rome, Italy back in 2006 for a family vacation. We were there for two weeks and it was absolutely amazing!! I decided to turn these two pictures into my postcards because I was actually in the first picture. The shot was taken from the top of Saint Angelo's Castle facing the Vatican City. I choose the second image as my postcard because the Colosseum was my favorite place to visit and tour.

[The images are sized down to 500x400]

Favorite Photoshop Tutorials

I love computers and I am extremely good with them. Especially playing games and using search engines on the web and all the basic Microsoft applications like word, power point, excel, and access. However I'm not that great with photo shop. I've been having some difficulties with it since the beginning of class, that's why I'm glad that one of our assignments was to look up three of our favorite tutorials. Here they are:

Autoscopy

Here are my autoscopies that we had to do. They aren't that great, but I did my best and here is the final result. I did the first one in black and white and used the liquify to make the eyes bigger and the marquee tool to give my eyes that black hole look. For the second autoscopy I believe I used the mosaic tile pixelate filter. I also used liquify for the eyes on this one as well and changed the hue and saturation to give it that color. For the third one all I did was use the cutout filter and for the very last one I used the plastic wrap, changed the hue and saturation on this one as well and used the liquify device around the edges of my eyes. Hope there not too bad.

My first feelings about the class

Well initially I was highly nervous about the class. I am a Sport Management major and I have absolutely no artistic skills what so ever. But after thinking about it, I realized that the challenge would be fun and hopefully a new learning experience. I'm hoping that the course will help get my mind to think in a different perspective.
